How to use the tool
- The chain wear indicator is used to determine the condition of the rear sprocket. It can be used to check 12 - 21 teeth of the wheel. Procedure. The last connecting chain is moved away from the toothed side and a force of 100 N or 10 kg is applied to the tools in the direction of chain rotation. Now the last connecting chain is moved to the gear. If the teeth jump easily on the sprocket it is in good condition and will work flawlessly even with the new chain. However, if the last link chain gets on the tip of an adjacent tooth or if we have to force it to jump to the next tooth, the sprocket is worn and needs to be replaced. If the chain falls when force is applied, the sprocket is badly worn and needs to be replaced.
