The Chill Zone is your last resort if you need to loosen an overgrown seat post from the frame, a rusted bolt, a fused thread or get an old rusty chain moving again. The preparation freezes any metal down to -45 °C. This causes the metal to shrink and loosen the joint. Simply spray Chill Zone on the item for 10 to 20 seconds, wait 60 to 90 seconds and loosen the part.
Chill Zone is probably the most advanced corrosion penetrant. Before you break your stick over a stiff crank bolt, a rusted derailleur spring, an overgrown seatpost in your frame, or a rusted chain, try the Chill Zone! Bike parts that you would have to throw away can be refurbished so you can ride again the next day.
A special cooling medium freezes the metal down to -45°C. This causes the metal to shrink and create micro-cracks in corrosion and galvanically fused metal parts. The penetrating release agent then breaks down and washes away the rust. Thanks to the Chill Zone, most seized parts will gain full functionality.
How to use: Simply spray the rusted part for 10 to 20 seconds and wait 2-3 minutes for the release agent to fully absorb and break up the rust. For heavily rusted welds, spray longer (30-60 seconds) for maximum freezing effect, then wait ten minutes to one hour for the rust to break down thoroughly. When renewing a bicycle chain, soak one small part at a time.
