MET Trenta 3K Carbon Mips is a high-end road helMET for elite cyclists, which has earned victories in races such as Tour de France, Giro d'Italia, Liège-Bastogne-Liège, Il Lombardia or Strade Bianche. It is designed to keep the rider's head fresh and conserve energy with every pedal stroke. This is the most advanced road cycling helMETMET has ever produced.
MIPS AIR®, integrated directly into the padding, is the lightest and most advanced rotational energy management system. Specially developed to minimize the transfer of rotational forces to the head at certain impact angles, this system allows 10-15mm of relative movement between the absorbent layer and the padding, increasing rider protection.
The construction of the Trenta 3K Carbon Mips utilizes the flexibility of carbon fiber, which has allowed the density of the EPS foam to be reduced by 20% without affecting the helMET's ability to absorb energy. The result is a lighter but more powerful shell that sets a new standard for ventilated helMETs.
The helMET uses technology originally developed by NACA, the predecessor of NASA. The front inlet creates a cooling effect, while the Venturi effect allows warm air to escape through strategically placed outlet openings, ensuring constant airflow without increasing resistance.
The rear part of the helMET is aerodynamically optimized. In conjunction with the front NACA valve and the rear deflector, it effectively directs the air flow. The lower profile of the back of the helMET was developed based on specific tests in the wind tunnel of the NEWTON laboratory in Milan.
