Pirelli Scorpion Race Enduro S 29 x 2.5, DualWALL, SmartEVO DH, Yellow label
READY TO RACE
- Soft Surface Specialist -
BETTER SILENCING
The Scorpion™ Race Enduro S is a soft terrain model. The tread pattern is specifically designed for soft ground; it features large and taller lugs offering excellent mechanical grip to support aggressive riding in a wide range of conditions, right down to light mud. SmartEVO DH's super soft compound is combined with large lugs that offer excellent grip on slippery surfaces without compromising the overall stability of the tire due to the stiffer base compound. The DualWall construction is enduro-specific and features a 120 tpi dual-layer carcass that is reinforced with a rubber liner. This structure provides both protection and support while allowing for the Enduro Race tire's lighter weight, superior flexibility and speed.
The Scorpion™ Race Enduro S is a tire designed for racing on intermediate and soft terrain, a true specialist for sandy, loamy and generally looser trails. The tread pattern is specifically designed for soft and loose terrain, featuring high and medium spaced lugs to encourage aggressive riding when the tire needs more ground penetration. The tire's special design comes from extensive testing with our enduro factory teams around the world.

DualWALL
DualWALL is a special construction designed for enduro racing. The 120tpi dual-layered fibre density carcass is combined with a rubber insert to stiffen the area of the heel most prone to pinching. The DualWALL construction is the choice of enduro riders looking for maximum feel with the substrate without having to compromise the renowned reliability of dual-layer construction.
SmartEVO DH
Developed by the motorsport department, the SmartEVO DH rubber compound is designed and tuned differently to other Pirelli MTB rubber compounds due to its consideration for maximum racing use. While SmartGRIP rubbers are tuned with a balanced level of performance for all-round use and for every type of rider, SmartEVO DH is designed to deliver the ultimate in race day performance. It is designed to provide superior grip and confidence in the toughest and most demanding racing conditions where the rubber is subjected to extreme mechanical loads. Both static and dynamic parameters have been adjusted to increase safety and a sense of control under braking and leaning; perception of limit and the ability to engage with controlled slip are as important as absolute grip, we call this "predictability". A key feature of the SmartEVO DH is the combination of two layers of rubber compounds: on the outside is a super soft high performance compound (42 Shore A), while on the inside under the tread is a cushioning compound that provides support and shock absorption. These two compounds work seamlessly together to give the rider a sense of reactivity and precision under extreme side loading, which is typical of downhill racing. The outer layer of the rubber has been tuned with the understanding that rolling resistance is still a key factor when competing against the clock. Just like in motorsport, temperature is another key parameter affecting the performance of the rubber: the SmartEVO DH is developed to remain consistent in its behaviour over a wide range of temperatures, from freezing to the right summer ones.
