Is it simply a warmer Gabba? The long sleeves make this a jacket that covers a wide range of conditions. As on the Gabba, the RoS emblem means it excels in dry conditions thanks to its high breathability, as well as in wet conditions thanks to CASTELLI's exclusive GORE-TEX INFINIUM™ WINDSTOPPER® fabrics. The front features a lightweight fleece material on the inside with surface water repellency, while the lighter, stretchier fabric is on the back, maximizing breathability and comfort while offering excellent water repellency. The Perfetto RoS 2 jacket keeps all the cold wind out while being far more breathable than the typical polyurethane membranes used on most jackets that try to compete with the Perfetto. Because you stay drier, you don't need as many layers underneath. The beauty of this jacket is that it has no insulation as such, so a thin base layer is sufficient for mild conditions, while the addition of an insulating layer (warm jersey or CASTELLI Alpha 2nd Layer) will get you below freezing. The "2" part of the name refers to updates from the latest version, including a two-way YKK® Vislon® zipper for even tighter ventilation. Reflective elements on the back are more visible, the upper shoulder seam has been moved to the back, and three pockets allow for more storage. The Perfetto remains a high-performance cut, but the new model offers more room in the chest, shoulders and biceps.
