Officially, we guarantee a UPF 50+ protection rating for these cover-ups, but in lab tests they actually prevent up to 99.8% of harmful UV rays from passing through. We used a polyester base, which is not only more effective than nylon at blocking UV rays, but is also much better at keeping the body dry, in both cooler and warmer conditions. We kept the construction smooth to eliminate seams that could chafe, and we used elastic silicone strips to keep the sleeves in place at all times.
