The design of the Cinder MIPS helmet is inspired by the Synthe at first glance and offers similar features that those who are serious about cycling will appreciate: low weight, quality ventilation or premium Air-Fx liners. An important part of the helmet is the Roc Loc 5 clamping system, which allows you to adjust the helmet with one hand, including a three-stage vertical adjustment.
MIPS (Multi-Directional Impact Protection System) provides increased protection against rotational forces on the head.

MIPS IS MOVEMENT
ADVANCES IN CYCLING HELMET DEVELOPMENT
All Giro helmets are designed to absorb as much energy as possible on impact and meet the current European standard: EN 1078. The new MIPS technology aims to eliminate the rotational forces that act on the head in the event of a crash. When hit at any angle, the MIPS system allows the EPS shell of the helmet to rotate independently around the rider's head. Although this movement is only on the order of a few millimeters, we believe that MIPS technology significantly reduces the amount of rotational force that could otherwise be transmitted to the brain.
WHAT IS MIPS (Multidirectional Impact Protection System) and how does it work?
MIPS is a slippery liner between the EPS shell (helmet body) and the inner liners. In the event of an angled impact (for example, if you catch your head on a branch), the EPS shell of the helmet will roll a few millimeters over the MIPS layer, protecting your head and brain from a violent rotational jerk.
